Meet the Team
Patricia Edmiston, PhD
Patricia Edmiston, PhD is an experienced Mathematics and Science educator who taught for over 25 years in traditional and applied subjects at the high school and university levels and has a demonstrated history of working with students of diverse backgrounds and needs.
Dr. Edmiston is a National Board Certified Teacher in Mathematics and has experience as an Educational Consultant in Mathematics, Standardized Testing Preparation and working with K-12 Teachers to improve mathematics instruction. She obtained her Bachelor's of Science from the University of New Orleans in 1988, her Master's in Science from Loyola University in 1992 and her Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of New Orleans in 2004.
In addition to teaching, she has created curriculum and benchmarks in mathematics for the State of Louisiana, served as an AP exam assessor, and has experience reviewing and evaluating test preparation questions for standardized testing. She is the recipient of numerous teaching awards and honors that are a testament to her abilities as an educator.
Her commitment to teaching practical knowledge in an approachable style is exemplified by her popular YouTube videos explaining fundamental concepts of Algebra (https://youtube.com/@mathteacherDrEd).
Dr. Edmiston is also the mother of 4 college-educated children who each attended universities on scholarships and is passionate about helping students identify their best paths forward for physical, mental, and financial well-being as they prepare to finish high school and enter the job market or college career paths.
